Niemann-Pick UK

Niemann-Pick UK (NPUK) is a charitable organisation providing a unique support and information service to those affected by Niemann-Pick disease, their families, & associated professionals. NPUK is managed by a Board of Directors and entirely supported by voluntary donations and fundraising. Their aims are; to make a positive difference to the lives of those affected by Niemann-Pick disease, relieve sickness and any distress which may arise there from, and to advance the education and awareness of families, professionals and the general public in all matters concerning the disease.

By raising awareness of Niemann-Pick disease amongst health professionals and the wider general public, NPUK hopes to shorten time to diagnosis, to facilitate research into effective therapies and to ensure access to treatments and therapies as they become available.

Facilitating progress towards therapeutic interventions for Niemann-Pick disease is central to everything NPUK does. Since 1991, NPUK has played a key role in supporting and facilitating many research projects and has developed robust relationships with key research figures and organisations across the world. In addition they maintain active links, both nationally and internationally, with other support organisations, enabling the charity to share information and to stimulate interest in this group of diseases.
